FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The ISO 22000:2018 International Standard defines the necessary organizational structures and minimum requirements that an organization or business must meet in order to obtain ISO 22000:2018 Certification.

The Food Safety Management System includes a description of the organization of the company, written instructions for the tasks carried out in the company that affect food safety, forms and documents that are applied as well as control and evaluation tools for the operation of the system.

The ISO 22000:2018 Standard is applied by companies that have developed appropriate structures for determining, monitoring and continuously improving the food safety parameters of their operation.

THE OBJECTIVES AND BENEFITS OF THE INSPECTION

The Certification of the Food Safety Management System ensures the recognition of the Company's commitment to continuous efforts to reduce the possibility of introducing risks into the food and to improve its production process.

The Certification facilitates the company's transactions with other companies, and strengthens its position against internal and external competition.

The inspections carried out by the Certification Body ensure the company the possibility of improvement and development as the experienced team of inspectors proposes improvement measures and carries out corrective interventions.

THE OBJECTIVES AND BENEFITS OF THE INSPECTION

CERTIFICATION PROCEDURE

  • The Company that wishes to be Certified submits a Certification Application.
  • The Certification Body appoints an appropriate Team of Inspectors and conducts an on-site Pre-Assessment Inspection of the company's Food Safety System
  • During the Pre-Assessment Inspection, the completeness of the System documents (Manuals, Prerequisite Programs, Functional Prerequisite Programs, Critical Control Points, Food Safety Objectives and others, Procedures, Instructions, Forms, etc.) and their implementation (Files) are checked the whole of the Company based on the International Standard ISO 22000:2018
  • Discrepancies are recorded and the company defines the period of time during which the necessary corrective actions will be taken.
  • Then the Evaluation Inspection is carried out during which the System as a whole is checked as well as the completion of the Corrective Actions
  • As long as no deviations from the ISO 22000:2018 Standard are recorded during the Assessment Inspection, the Certification Body proceeds to issue a Certificate.
  • Otherwise, the Deviations/Non-Conformities are recorded and when/if they are removed, the Certificate Issuance Process proceeds.

EUROCERT is Accredited by the Greek Accreditation Body ESYD (National Accreditation Council) and provides Internationally recognized Certificates. EUROCERT has inspectors with long experience in inspections in Greece and abroad.

TIME OF ISSUANCE AND VALIDITY OF CERTIFICATE

Once the Food Safety Management System Assessment Inspection is successfully completed and there is a positive recommendation from the Inspector Team, the Certificate is issued in a short period of time.

The Certificate is valid for three years and during this period is supported by two annual Surveillance Inspections.
